Small Groups

Life Groups

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

(Ecclesiastes, Chapter 4, verse 12)

At Salisbury Bible Fellowship, we believe that relationships are vitally important.  Inwardly, all of us long for friendships that are authentic and unconditional. That’s why loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.

We believe that the most significant and positive impact on our lives happens in the context of relationships.  That's why we have many opportunities for adults to connect:

Small Groups meet in various homes throughout the week. The purpose of these is to develop closer relationships with God and one another.

Other activities happen from time to time.  Watch and listen for when they come up.

Living in this hectic, high-tech world full of change, it's easy to get lost in the crowd. After all, who has time to develop intentional relationships in this day and age? Yet all of us begin to die a little when we are isolated from one another.

Small groups are designed to help us build these relationships and care for one another. Our desire is that every person who starts coming to SBF will be involved in a small group and that it will be an important priority in their lives. We want to truly become a people who love and care for one another. Small groups connect you to a spiritual family whose goal is to love and support one another. They connect you with people who will love you in good times and hard times.

Each small group focuses on prayer and encouragement for one another. While small groups study Scripture, the goal of small groups is not an in-depth Bible study. It is a time to encourage one another to let the truth of God's Word make a real difference in our lives. Groups consist of more than 5 people, but no more than 25. A sign of a healthy small group is the need to give birth to another small group.

How do you get into a small groups?
That's easy! Once a person starts coming to SBF, we will recommend a small group to that individual or family and encourage them to call the host. Each individual has the freedom to choose when and where they want to meet and which small group best meets their needs.  Or you can contact us now about checking out a small group.

What about children?
When you call the host, we encourage you to find out how they handle the care of children.

When and where do small groups meet?
Currently, each small group meets in the home of the individual or couple that hosts it.  There are several small groups available, which meet different nights and in different areas around Wicomico county.  Call or e-mail the church office for information about a group near you.

If you have not yet developed a relationship with Jesus and would like to specifically investigate Christianity on an introductory level in a small group setting, Please let us know.
